I decided to pursue a career in bariatric surgery due to the multifaceted positive impact of bariatric surgery has on the lives of patients. All types of surgeries change people’s lives, and I absolutely love the particular way in which bariatric surgery changes lives. Reversing chronic diseases like diabetes and high blood pressure, decreasing dependence on medications, increasing mobility, and improving quality of life and wellbeing are just a few of the benefits that make me passionate about this type of surgery. With bariatric surgery, people are regaining their ability to actively participate in life again. The difference that this type of surgery can make in a person’s life is incredible, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to help people along their journey!
